Building Bridges to a Sustainable Retirement

Sustaining Dignity, Crafting Futures

Welcome to Aged Sunshine Tanzania (AST), an NGO in Arusha dedicated to empowering elderly citizens. Since 2015, we have created a supportive community where seniors, including those living alone or with disabilities, can thrive through self-reliant projects.

At our center, we organize members into groups for activities like carpentry, handcrafts, and Maasai dressmaking, with plans to add dressmaking and welding.

Join us in creating golden opportunities for our golden years.

About Our Center

Learn about us
“Where elders find community, support, and purpose.”

At Aged Sunshine Tanzania (AST), our center serves as a vibrant hub of activity and support for elderly citizens aged 60 and above. Located in the heart of Arusha Municipality, our center is more than just a physical space; it’s a welcoming community where seniors can come together, share experiences, and access vital resources.

Here, they find companionship, purpose, and the opportunity to engage in meaningful activities that enrich their lives.

“Empowering elders to live with dignity and independence.”

Our main approach at AST revolves around fostering a sense of belonging, independence, and empowerment among the elderly community. We believe in taking a holistic approach to elderly care, addressing not only their physical needs but also their emotional, social, and psychological well-being.

Through personalized support and tailored programs, we strive to enhance their quality of life and ensure they lead fulfilling and dignified lives in their golden years.

“From companionship to care, we provide all elders need to thrive.”

At AST, we offer a wide range of programs and services designed to meet the diverse needs of our elderly members. From income-generating activities such as carpentry and handcrafts to access to healthcare, social services, and emotional support, we provide comprehensive support that enables our members to thrive.

Additionally, our center serves as a community gathering place where seniors can connect with others, participate in recreational activities, and access educational resources.

“Collaboration, compassion, and community drive our efforts.”

At AST, collaboration and community engagement are at the core of how we operate. We work closely with local authorities, communities, and stakeholders to identify the needs of elderly citizens and develop tailored programs that address those needs effectively.

Our approach is participatory and inclusive, ensuring that the voices and preferences of our members are heard and respected. Through transparent governance, continuous monitoring, and evaluation, we strive to maintain accountability and ensure the success and sustainability of our programs.
